5000 Lt/hr Vacuum Dryer degasser Unit

The ESI Vacuum Dryer degasser unit is designed as a versatile Transformer Oil Filtration unit for field or factory use. The unit incorporates high capacity multi-stage electric oil heaters, a Large Capacity Vacuum Pump with external connections for Vacuum filling work, 3 stage particulate filtration, and connections for a large variety of service applications.

Standard instruments include air in-line moisture meter, flow rate and flow totaliser, vacuum, pressure, temperature and alarm listing.

Flow rates are variable from 0 to >5000 lt/hr and heating from 24KW to 96KW in four stages. A PLC controller allows for easy operation and protects the filter unit from operator error.

System Overview

The ESI Vacuum Dryer Degasser Unit is designed for a variety of Field or Factory oil filtration applications. The filtering system removes dissolved water from oil to less than 5ppm (single-pass), and includes multi-stage Particulate Filtration down to 0.3 micron.

The process removes dissolved gas in oil but does not remove oil oxidation inhibitors. The system is complete with all components necessary to monitor the mechanical and electrical operating conditions of the unit. The unit has variable flow adjustment from 0 to 5000 litres/hr. The oil is filtered and heated via a positive displacement gear pump. The warm oil is then sprayed into a large capacity degasser chamber under very high vacuum. The clean, dry oil is then returned via centrifigal pumps, to the transformer. Over pressure and leakage protection of the plant and hoses ensure the unit is protected from operator error and eqipment failure. A PLC controls all filter unit functions and provides the operator with alarm and fault condition messages, should these conditions occur.

The unit is supplied on a base plate which incorporates an in-built oil reservoir to facilitate draining of Filter Vessels and oil top-up of equipment. Extra oil hose connection points are supplied to allow filling and removal of oil from this tank.

Control Box:   Weather Proof Painted Steel, NEMA 4 enclosure. Vaisala IIMP208 Moisture Meter, Macnaught Electronic Flow Meter, Carel IR32W2 Temperature Controller with Digital read-out, Vacuum Gauge (0 to 100mbar), Filter Pressure Gauge, Elapsed Time Hour Meter, Phase Rotation Changeover switch, Motor Start/Stop push buttons, run light indicators and PLC controller.

Inlet Pump:   Blackmer XL positive displacement gear pump with mechanical seal and internal pressure bypass with Brook Crompton 1.1Kw, 960 rpm, 3 Phase motor

Outlet Pumps:   Grundfos CR 5-6 multi stage pump, 1.1Kw, 2850 rpm with Grundfos CHN 4-50 pump, 1.32Kw, 3 phase motor.

Vacuum Pump:   PVR Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump, Model EU300, Capacity 300m3/hr, 0.5m bar ultimate vacuum, 5.5Kw, 3 phase motor.

Oil Heater:   96Kw Ceramic heaters controlled by 4 stage master switch and Carel IR32W2, temperature controller/display module

Indication:  Filter inlet and outlet oil pressure, vacuum, temperature, moisture. Oil flow in litres/min plus Total litres since reset, Plant Status, Alarm and Fault Reports.

Oil Sample Ports:   Sample ports for inlet and outlet oil quality are supplied with this unit.
